Concept Development

This spatial sketch is phase one of a developing idea surrounding layered depictions of Nevis Hot Springs and Bath Hotel, the first hotel in the Caribbean. While unpacking the colonial history in the area and learning about the Caribbean's economic reliance on tourism, I have been revisiting my photographs of the site and drawing out new insights, connections and associations. I have also been experimenting with how I render my photography, using projection and prints on silk organza for these studies.
