Technique Experimentation

The first iterations of a new visual language I developed for my MFA Fine Arts thesis, looking to combine my separate painting, photography and writing practices into one. Using photographs I took in the Caribbean as part of my Mellon-Tishman fellowship in the summer of 2024, I began to probe the question: 'Does Water Carry Memory?' Exploring issues of climate change and environmental deterioration specific to the Caribbean, intersecting with issues like colonialism and tourism, this work formed the foundations for my thesis exhibition in March, 2025.
